How to fix common AVG errors?

AVG comes in the list of prior antivirus software associated with internet, data, and device security. The products of AVG are available at www.avg.com/retail webpage which can be easily downloaded, installed, and activated. During installation or activation, users may see errors that are common for user devices. Some of the errors occurred due to incomplete file download, or installation. Few error messages are related to AVG activation. If you see errors on your display, then you must check the below steps;

Install the updated version –

If you are using a previous or older version of AVG, then you might face errors sometimes. Well, updating the software is important. But you can uninstall the older version and download the latest one. For it, you can follow below instructions;

1. Download the AVG uninstaller tool.

2. Uninstall the older version using this tool.

3. Otherwise, from the control panel, you can remove the software.

4. Then, go to avg.com/retail and enter your key.

5. Enter your login details.

6. Download the latest version.

7. Wait for complete download and do not interrupt in the download process.

8. Now, double-tap on the downloaded files and install them.

9. Activate it once the installation gets completed.

When AVG says ‘You are not protected’ –

If you found that you AVG is showing this message – you are not protected, on your screen, then you can fix it with the following steps. Check and ensure that there is no other software running on the system.

· Login to windows administrator.

· From start menu, go to Apps and Features tab.

· Next, choose the AVG, and uninstall it.

· Click Yes if a dialog box appears.

· Hit the Done button.

· Once the setup wizard appears, click on the Repair tab.

· Wait for complete repair and restart the computer.

Error message – Virus Definitions not updating

If you find such message of virus definition on your screen, then you must troubleshoot the error. You can try out the above steps to get rid. It will sort out the issue but if the error doesn’t fix, then complete reinstallation is a must. Having an updated version can avoid such errors.

If you encounter activation errors –

Activation code is one that plays an important role in activating the AVG in run mode. AVG can work only when it is activated. One can complete the process by downloading from www.avg.com/retail and activating the software during the installation process. One can use activation from the AVG account.

Sometimes user face activation errors or messages are shown on display such as ‘ license key is incorrect’ or ‘license key is expire’ etc. to resolve such errors;

· Ensure that your key is updated.

· Check the license expiry date.

· If you are entering the code at avg.com/retail site, then carefully enter it.

· if the license has received on email, then copy and paste it directly.

· In case of the retail card, check the key from the instruction side. Then type one by one letter on the relevant field.

· If you are trying to use another AVG product’s key on any product, then it will not work. For example; the activation code of AVG internet security doesn’t work for AVG total security.

· Check, how many devices can be activated according to your subscription? If you can use one key on 5 devices, then it will show errors on the 6^th device (if you try to activate the 6^th one).

· For expired errors, renew the subscription.

· Check twice the numbers you entered. You may have entered the wrong key if it’s showing errors.

· Use proper activation site and process to not encounter any error.
